The many different rooms in the hotel gave lots of relaxing seating areas, both inside and outside.
Friendly service and excellent breakfasts served by attentive and friendly staff. Good location
It is not clear when staying at the hotel that the dinner menu is fixed price five course. Also the vegetarian menu is not really any different than the sort of food one would get in a pub, so I am not convinced that this was really value for money for myself.
The comfort eg library and lounge with log fire.
The fact that vegetarian meals had to be asked for specially instead of listing options on the menu.
This hotel is the way I feel all hotels should be. Friendly, relaxing with good food and rooms.
Nice hotel with old English ambiance and feel. Nice old fashioned feel to it. Plenty of good parking for the car.
A bit old and stuffy for younger people
The location is superb, the hotel is a lovely period building with very comfortable sitting rooms / lounges and is set in pleasant surrounding a few minutes drive out of picturesque Hawes.Bedrooms are not that big but have all necessary facilites and are very comfortable. I am always a bit weary of eating in hotels but the restaurant here is well worth a visit. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.
Relaxed atmosphere and excellent location for walking
Choice of evening meal was limited
The restaurant and standard of cuisine
overall impressive, room was excellant, staff were professional but helpful and thefood was superb
Gracious welcome, lovely location, cozy ambience, v. good food.
The staff couldn't do enough to help us. You can tell this is a family bussiness and we loved every minute of our stay. Good service, food and wine.
The welcome and the grandness of the hotel
The single meal offering was expensive
Great four poster room. Friendly helpful staff (gave me a lift to collect my car from the village; post wedding). Amazing breakfast.
Nothing of interest to occupy residents if weather is poor. DVD and Book library a tad dated.
We liked the dog friendly facilities . dogs were definitely regarded as welcome guests.
